COMPANY HISTORY

In 1985 a group of concerned physicians from Indiana University and local communities gathered to discuss creating a unique organization that would give cancer patients access to clinical trials in their own communities. The HOG continues to offer important clinical cancer studies for Indiana oncologists and disseminate results of previous research to the cancer community at large. The HOG serves as a mechanism by which clinical trial concepts are reviewed and developed into functional protocols. Further, HOG secures funding, administers protocols to study centers, collects resulting data and ensures research quality. The HOG is continually positioning itself to accommodate the future of clinical research. Ever higher research aspirations will be achieved by the Group through creating opportunities for new collaborations and cultivating public confidence in the value of clinical research.

CORPORATE HIGHLIGHTS

The HOG has neither applied for nor received federal or state funding. Despite having no government support, the HOG has injected nearly $4 million into Indiana’s economy by establishing jobs for research professionals throughout the state with its work in clinical research.
