Monarch LifeSciences began in 2003 as The Indiana Centers for Applied Protein Sciences (INCAPS). It was one of eight initiatives conceived by BioCrossroads, an innovative collaboration among industry, academia and government in the life sciences. Launched in 2004, Monarch began working on proteomics projects for regional pharma and academic customers. The company has since quadrupled the number of its employees and expanded their expertise to focus on biomarker discovery, validation and application. Of particular interest is their high throughput mass spec-based protein assay (LifeMarker™ Assays).
